We are delighted to say that our first WingFest event went OFF with a bang.

Building on our one year anniversary demo event in 2022. We have expanded to create ‘WingFest 2023’ our inaugural Wingfoil racing and fun demo event at our centre in Poole; Easyriders Sandbanks Beach Club.
With superb winds on both days we managed to complete a full 12 rounds of racing, 7 slalom and 5 course racing, with over 25 happy competitors.

Shore road is possibly one of the best foil racing venues in the country for all disciplines.
We’re no strangers to competition, Andy Easyriders founder is current Barbados wing racing champion, and Gemma Soloman, Centre manager is current British kite waveriding Champion and also just won the womens place for the worlds first fliteboard E-foil enduro race from the Needles to Shore road. So we were super excited to bring some fun racing to our doorstep for the local winging & watersports community to enjoy and experience.

As well as Wingfoil racing, for those who already can do this latest form of wind powered foiling watersport, we delivered over 75 FREE wing taster sessions to the public.
Alongside this, we had a procession of displays and kit from all the leading wing foiling manufacturers giving beginner, intermediate and expert wingers the chance to use all the latest and greatest equipment in sublime conditions.

We were stoked that two of the Easyriders team got on the podium for the womens; Lucy Davison in 2nd and Gemma Soloman 3rd. Anna Colonette took the extremely well deserved win in both the youth girls and womens categories.
Local hero and championship windsurfer Guy Cribb came 2nd in the mens, sandwiched in-between the visiting Wigglesworth brothers Hugo, 15, taking the convincing win and Toby, 13, on Guy’s heels in 3rd.

I’m delighted with the way the event went, challenging but great conditions for racing and trying new toys. A great vibe both on the beach and on the water fantastic to see all levels out there giving it a go on the race course from some of the best juniors on the international circuit, to my friends and locals chucking their hat in the ring and having a whole load of fun doing so.

It’s all about having fun on the water and wingfoiling truly lends itself to being safe, easy to learn and versatile as a watersport, it works inland, on the coast, on bumpy and flat water, through light to strong winds.
We hope to build on the event for 2024 and get more people into the sport between then and now.

This event wouldn’t have been anywhere near as awesome as it was without the support and help from our brilliant team and all the brands that came along, supported, helped out and donated prizes;
BKSA, BPKC, Easyriders, Ballistic
F-One and Manera, North and Mystic, Lifejacket, Cabrinha, Buccaneer
Naish, AFS, RedBull Spect, Neil Pryde & JP, Funky Peach, hydration from Liquid Death.
Race Director Arky and his harrem Ash and Hannah, the genius photographer Howard Shep.
Keep an eye out for next years dates, we can’t wait to run this event again!
