Caribbean; Barbados

Barbados is the heart of the Caribbean with golden sands, perfect waves, jerk chicken galore and great winds.  This chilled out island is the ideal compliment to the endless kiting, surfing, snorkelling and SUPing on your doorstep.

It’s a super easy direct flight London-Bridgetown.  Stepping off the plane into the heat and you can be on the beach/poolside half an hour later with a prearranged transfer straight straight straight to our accommodation, where a cold banks will be waiting for you.
Some good friends of Andy’s and Easyriders, Steve owns Surfers Bay and Mike owns surfers point house. This gives a great mix of rooms and studio apartments with a pool, great bar and open air restaurant right on the beach!

In this Southern corner of the island we have a few favourite spots to frequent;
Long Beach, our main kiting spot hidden down a dirt track through the trees has remained a little secret gem with a few kilometres of sandy beach, a couple of reef breaks out back and a character building shore break on certain tides.

Silver Sands, just next door to us and a short but super fun downwinder from Long Beach boasts 500m flat water area to play around in before you get to the reef break.  This produces anything from gentle waist height waves to over head gnarly waves when working properly.

South Point Lighthouse is again right on our doorstep but protected from the wind so perfect for you wannabe and aspiring surfers as it has some of the cleanest, though not the biggest, on the island.

Freights, round the corner from Surfers Bay towards Oistins, is another beautiful spot for learning to surf, more than likely with the company of a nest of turtles cruising through the waves with you.

With our Barbados trip getting you 4-6 hours (if not more!) of water time and coaching per day at the best spots with the best gear and tuition, and fresh fish markets, food stalls, the legendary chicken Rita’s and the occasional rum to refuel on its a favourite trip for many.
